Was in Soldotna m, AK on a fishing trip. Fred Meyer had a choice of fish shipping boxes we used to pack our own fish and check as luggage.
The store that has everything! So conveniently located near our camping location. Prices are decent but if you can catch the sales and use your Fred Meyers card, it's worth it. Staff are friendly and really helpful. Lots of parking, even for an RV!
We just moved to Soldotna two weeks ago and have been to this Freddy's many times already to purchase major household items (a couch and chair, kitchenware, etc.) as well as groceries. It is THE BUSY SEASON on the Kenai Peninsula, and the store is always packed! Nevertheless, the store is clean, well-stocked, and well-organized. Special shout-out to the Customer Service personnel who saw us trying out couches and provided information and support that sealed the deal then and there; also to the produce department gal who heard me mention asparagus to my husband and pointed it out (we'd just passed it); and to the super helpful teenaged (?) checkout clerk who helped me scan coupons for additional savings. It's not easy to deal with a barrage of tourists all day every day, and this store and its personable and helpful personnel have made our move to Soldotna efficient and enjoyable. I'm glad it's my new hometown store!
Great customer service and everything you might need for groceries home or clothing. Long hours and huge selection
Confused by the negative comments about customer service..... I frequent this Freddy's with my 3 young (loud) children often and have never received anything but excellent customer service. I have a suspicion those that are upset thought they could be the exception to the rules.... All I can say to those negative Nancy's is....
So first off, I don't really think this Fred Meyers deserves 5 stars. I'm only giving it a 5 star review as it currently only has 3 stars but is definitely worth 4. Steering away from the old-Soldotna theme, this Fred Meyer has recently been remodeled and is much nicer than it used to be. It seems to be in line with the pattern of new businesses coming to the area or existing ones being remodeled - bringing with it a sense of a new-Soldotna. Fred Meyer is essentially a Walmart Supercenter as it has everything you could need - everything from groceries to clothes to electronics. For those fishing in the summer, this place also has everything you could need. With this remodeling, Soldotna finally has a modern superstore. Hopefully the pattern continues!
